In lateral (profile) projections the human body can be divided conditionally
into 6 levels among which three levels correspond with the front surface and
three levels correspond with the rear surface of a body. Namely breast and
abdomen and forward muscles of legs matter on a front surface; back and loins
and buttocks matter on a rear surface as these parts of a body are most
appreciable and significant at perception of a human figure, because these are
forms according to which it is possible to distinguish types of body builds. And
also these parts of a body are the main features according to which forms
associate with psychological properties of a human person.
According to six formal levels for ordering types of body builds in lateral
projections it is necessary to use hexagrams i-jing which consist of six lines,
that is shown on the scheme:
![]() |
The scheme shows ratio of formal levels of a human body
with positional structure of lines in hexagrams i-jing: back corresponds to the sixth top position; breast corresponds to the fifth position; loins corresponds to the fourth position; abdomen corresponds to the third position; buttocks correspond to the second position; legs (forward muscles of legs) correspond to the first bottom position. The dark contour specifies a figure of a body, and the white contour is marking namely designates the increased or reduced parameters of a figure. If any line in hexagram is break then corresponding formal level of a human body is expressed, that corresponds to the increased dark contour and invisible white contour. And if any line in hexagram is entire then corresponding formal level of a human body is not expressed, that corresponds to the reduced dark contour and visible white contour. Namely the dark contour cover white contour if formal levels of a body are expressed, and white contour is appreciable if formal levels of a body are not expressed. |
In gallery of images (gallery of lateral projections) look 64 hexagrams
i-jing and corresponding symbolical figures of human bodies which correspond to
64 types of builds, and also in gallery there are psychological definitions
which correspond with types of builds and which are constructed according to 6
formal levels of a body.
The expressed levels of a body are designated (max), and not
expressed levels are designated (min) in gallery.
Back.
If a back is expressed then a person seems stooping and sad that associates with
pessimistic thinking, and if a back is not expressed and is a straight line then
a person seems harmonious (svelte) and joyful that associates with optimistic
thinking.
Breast.
A person with the expressed breast seems excited or inspired as if the degree of
enthusiasm depends on quantity of air which a person can inhale. Therefore the
expressed breast associates with optimistic thinking as enthusiasm grows out
positive ideas. And if the breast is not expressed then a person seems not
inspired that associates with pessimistic thinking.
In aggregate the top sixth feature and the fifth feature in hexagrams i-jing
correspond to a back and breast which symbolize thinking. The expressed stooping
(round-shouldered) back associates with negative ideas, but the expressed breast
associates with positive ideas. And on the contrary not expressed straight back
associates with positive ideas, but not expressed breast associates with
negative ideas.
Abdomen.
The expressed abdomen seems vital and consequently associates with excess of a life contentment,
but not expressed hollow abdomen is perceived spitefully (adversely for a life contentment).
The abdomen seems vital as associates with a birth of children or a potential
opportunity of a birth of children, that is satisfactory for forms of a female
body. But in male figures the expressed abdomen seems consequence of vital
disorder and powerlessness before gastronomic temptations, and consequently men
try to strain muscles of abdomen to seem stronger.
Pressure of abdomen muscles for women is unnatural though women too try to hide
weakness of abdomen muscles.
Loins.
The expressed or not expressed sizes of loins are poorly appreciable, but the
perception of loins can be compared to perception of a waist in forward
projections of a body. Namely a person with not expressed harmonious loins seems
refined (elegant or exquisite), and a person with the expressed loins seems
rough and not elegant. It is possible to tell that a person with the expressed
loins seems unpretentious but a person with not expressed loins has claim on
refinement.
Pay attention that photo models try to curve loins in photos to show refinement
and elegance. And also the expressed and not expressed sizes of loins can be
noticed at bicycle racers in position when they bend backs for reduction of
resistance of air. Backs in a lumbar part are more straight at bicycle racers
with the expressed loins, and backs in a lumbar part are gracefully bent at
bicycle racers with not expressed loins.
In aggregate the fourth and third features in hexagrams i-jing correspond to
loins and abdomen which symbolize perception of a life. The expressed abdomen
associates with the kind and relaxed perception of a life, but a person with not
expressed abdomen seems spiteful and constrained. The expressed loins associate
with rough and unpretentious perception of a life, but a person with not
expressed harmonious loins seems elegant and exquisite.
Buttocks.
Buttocks symbolize sensuality and vital forces.
If buttocks are expressed then a person possesses a stock of vital forces, but
in this case feelings seem egoistic as accumulation of vital forces does not
assume their expenditure for the sake of other people. And if buttocks are not
expressed then a person not seems egoistic, but vital forces seem poor.
Besides the expressed buttocks associate with satisfaction vital needs that
causes similar satisfaction in people who perceive a person with the expressed
buttocks. And if buttocks are not expressed then a person seems constrained in
realization of vital needs.
Legs (forward muscles of legs).
The expressed muscles of legs symbolize vital forces which are spent for the
sake of people, unlike buttocks which symbolize vital forces accumulated for
itself. Therefore a person seems altruistic as the expressed legs associate with
force and training, that grows out activity and expenditure of forces.
Not expressed legs seem weak and inactive that is perceived as uselessness of a
person for other people.
In aggregate the second feature and the bottom first feature in hexagrams
i-jing correspond to buttocks and forward muscles of legs which symbolize vital
forces. The expressed buttocks associate with egoistic vital forces, but the
expressed muscles of legs associate with altruistic vital forces. Not expressed
buttocks and muscles of legs associate with lack of vital forces.
The listed psychological characteristics are only some conclusions which are
made according to visible associations which arise at a sight at a human body,
but except for the listed characteristics it is possible to apply any other
descriptions which can be compared to the types of human bodies shown in gallery
and can be compared to the offered formal scheme of a human person.
The images in galleries are formal figures of human bodies and consequently conditionally correspond
with real human forms. But nevertheless the shown images allow to classify
types of body builds by means of tetragrams and hexagrams i-jing. If a body can
be compared to any image then a person concerns to this type of a build, and
also if a body of other person can be compared to the same image then both
concerns to one type. And bodies of people can have insignificant formal
differences but if can be compared with one symbolical figure then concern to
one type of a body build and possess identical properties of a person.
In gallery for each type of a build and everyone hexagram i-jing there are two
images. The left images represent figures of a female body, and the right
geometrical images represent the unified figures which allow to identify not
only female but also male bodies.
The following page gives the information which is necessary for identification of real human bodies in comparison with figures of a body in galleries of images.
